Canadian running back Dillon Campbell signs with Alouettes

Canadian running back Dillon Campbell has signed with the Montreal Alouettes, per sources.

The national ball carrier was drafted by the Toronto Argonauts in the fifth round, 39th overall in the 2015 CFL draft. He attended training camp with the Argos that year before returning to Wilfrid Laurier University for his final USports season. Campbell attended Toronto’s training camp in 2016 and was released among final cuts. Then he spent some time on the Saskatchewan Roughrider’s practice roster.

Campbell left Laurier as the program’s all-time leading rusher with 3,598 yards. He led the nation in rushing for two straight years – 2014 and 2015 – and earned OUA MVP honours in 2014.
