Eskimos draft pick not offered contract after Bears mini-camp

Edmonton Eskimos draft pick, defensive lineman Kwaku Boateng attended Bears rookie mini-camp from May 12-14 and did not receive a contract offer from Chicago.

Boateng was selected in the fifth round, 41st overall by Edmonton on May 7. Expect him to be at Eskimos rookie mini-camp and training camp.

The two-time USports All-Canadian played an integral role in the Golden Hawks run to a 2016 Yates Cup championship, the program’s first since 2005. Laurier’s career sack leader has proven his ability to rush the passer at the university level. He’s a two-time academic All-Canadian as well.
