In reply to john. I don't think that is the case, pardon the pun. I believe the future of the sport involves going back to the headgear, institutionalizing below the waist tackling and taking the head out of the game. While due to the inherent physical nature of the game, there of course will always still be some risk involved, but the game would essentially become "turn-based" rugby.

If he wins this case this could be the end of the CFL.
More ex-players will come forward to sue the CFL and the league just can’t afford to pay out compensation.

I’d say Bruce probably suffered some concussions in his years prior to his time in the CFL. So, I don’t think this can all be laid on the CFL.

Concussions in contact sports due to medical advances can be detected in easier ways.One still may wonder how Sidney Crosby just “recovered” so easily after an apparent concussion vs Washington? However, the Concussion matter , especially in football will probably be determined by parents of Highschool Students who may or may allow their children to play Highschool football. School Boards may say no to football. It may not be the Courts.

Bruce will have a very difficult time proving he was right in the head before the concussions. How much variance from baseline are his current mood swings?
