Egg or hen? Surely, vast swaths of attendees aren't 'die-hards' - they think its 'in' or 'cool' to go to certain games (its what one does, so to say, because other do so). Where do they get this impression from? Oh, that's right, media coverage. When one critically observes the excitement of CFL action compared to, say, a Jays or TFC game, well, one can't but wonder about what strikes certain people as entertaining (based on the respective merits of these, among other, sports). Football has so much more to offer in terms of intensity, eye-opening plays, strategy/tactics, athleticism . . .

The problem is you can't dress up a pig.
When the Argos draw 12k to a game, how do you spin it? should Torstar not mention it?
There was enough coverage about the move to BMO and how the move from the RC would translate to thousands of new season ticket holders - it didn't happen.
Should Torstar spin that?
You give more coverage to the sports where the majority of people are interested and that is the Jays, Leafs, TFC, Raptors.
CFL fans in Toronto have to stop blaming the media, or the schedule or the weather or the lack of marketing.
Good luck trying to get millenials or women to CFL games in Toronto, they are spending their money at TFC games or Jays games in the summer

Based upon the Torstar announcement of layoffs and the health of its business, The Star's position towards the Argos and CFL coverage probably won't matter. Daily print media, other than those publications with a 'leading' image will be seen as 'old technology'

Isn't this, more or less, what the Argos desperately tried to do last season?
