Eskimos draft pick DB Arjen Colquhoun attending Seahawks mini-camp

Canadian defensive back Arjen Colquhoun has accepted an invite to Seattle Seahawks rookie mini-camp, per sources.

The 24-year-old was selected by the Edmonton Eskimos in the second round, 17th overall during the 2016 CFL draft. Colquhoun was ranked as the top defensive back in that Canuck class.

The Windsor, Ontario native and W. F. Herman Secondary School graduate started 11 games for Michigan State in 2015, his senior season. He was a vital part of the Spartans Big Ten Championship team, recording a career-high 45 tackles, 12 passes defended, 10 pass break-ups, two interceptions and two forced fumbles.

Despite strong numbers at his MSU pro day, Colquhoun went unselected in the 2016 NFL draft, but he signed a priority undrafted free agent contract with the Dallas Cowboys. On August 30 he was waived and since then Colquhoun’s been a free agent. He’s still considered an NFL rookie.
