It was mentioned that Adams was part of the discussions in the beginning but this was a no go for the Alouettes. Same for Gagnon.

Honestly, I ca't see how this isn't a good trade for the Alouettes unless Foucault reveals to be top notch. His national status would then be the difference between Olafyoye and him. Would be a good trade anyway as Foucault didn't want to sign with the Alouettes unless he had starter money. Olafyoye is a proven vet, all star and going in his best years. Good trade for a sulking inflated ego.

So, for one of the best OTs in CFL since 6 years, the Alouettes trade a 28 player who never played a single down in CFL, had ONE horrible start in NFL and was dressed for 5 games over 3 years. He didn't see the football field last season. Hard to say this wasn't cap related. Nevertheless, good trade by Reed. Brown didn't make the team last season as he was pushed aside by Nate Isles. Isles is no longer with the team either.

Foucault acted as he was insulted by the Alouettes when they didn't want to give him starter money. It's yet to see if he'll get starter money in BC or wherever else he lands. This guy has averything to prove but he wants to be paid like he's proven something in this league.

Alouettes now have all the players to build a solid O line, and they don't even need 2 international OTs to do it. Philip Blake can play OT more than decently, so they could play Olafyoye, Matte, Brodeur-Jourdain and Blake as starters on the O line, provided LBJ is fully healed up. Otherwise, Matte may play C and Gagnon can play G. I suspect Gagnon is a project at C position.

All in all, Durant will be protected by one of the best OTs on his blind side, which gives the Alouettes better hopes for the 2017 season. They can't be tossed as non competitors now.
