Laval University offensive lineman Louis-Gabriel Beaudet has been added to the 2017 CFL draft class, per sources.
The 23-year-old began playing for Laval in 2012, entering the Rouge et Or program with fellow 2017 draft-eligible blocker Jean-Simon Roy. He’ll participate in the Toronto regional on Friday with a chance to move on to the national CFL combine in Regina from March 23-26.
“There’s some value to him,” renowned Laval offensive line coach Carl Brennan says.
“Tough kid who works well in combination with guards. He’s more of centre than a guard type. For the amount of time he’s played [started in 2015 and 2016] he understands the game very, very well. A late bloomer in the weight room, but he’s working hard in there.”
Beaudet was part of a Laval team that won the 2016 Vanier Cup as national champions in Canadian university football.
