Saskatchewan added quarterback Joe Licata to their negotiation list on February 20, 2017.
The 24-year-old set the all-time passing yards, passing touchdowns and single-season passing touchdowns marks at the University of Buffalo, eclipsing Drew Willy for tops in those categories. Over four seasons, Licata started 40 games compiling a 21-19 win-liss record while completing 823 of 1,359 attempts (61 percent) for 9,485 yards, 76 touchdowns and 37 interceptions with a 132.2 QB rating. He holds the Bulls program record for passing yards in a single game (497).
The six-foot-two, 210-pound pivot attended Bills rookie mini-camp last year, but Buffalo did not sign the Western New York native. Then Licata inked a deal with the Bengals as an undrafted free agent, but he was released on August 29 and gone unsigned since.
