Owens?? lol that’s funny.Think what you’re saying .If TO wanted Owens they would have pursued him as an FA.If this was the case they obviously only wanted him up to a curtain price point with Sask exceeded.Why would they now give Sask a player to get Owens under a contract that they weren’t willing to sign him for 2 weeks ago?
Fact is riders have too many receivers at some point sask will have to release players that teams can get for free and be able to renegotiate any previous deals?

I knew Arash Madani would try to take “credit” for this story. Everybody in the CFL media already figured it out the morning after the Popp sighting with Tanenbaum on Feb 22. On Feb 24, all Madani says is “close to wrapping it up.” Give me a break. Even I (as a fan) knew on Feb 21, that Popp and Trestman was a done deal. Only thing Madani GUESSED right was the date of the press conference. Big deal. What is the bigger news? The Popp/Trestman story that OTHERS BROKE or the date of the press conference that you guessed out of your rear end. No wonder everybody hates Madani.

In reply to stampland. Guess that would depend how desperate they are for receivers. Given they lost Gurley, Hazelton, Elliott, and Bates last fall, and Shaw and Spencer this year, I’d say they’re fairly desperate despite having recently picked up a couple. That said I notice there’s still a few FA receivers available, including – oddly enough – Gurley, Elliott, and Bates. Incidentally the Riders have more than Grant to trade – Owens for example. Sure some would love to see him back in double blue.

Great move! These guys know how to build a championship team. Now go sign a cfl QB – Argo meg list Oklahoma QB Baker Mayfield? – and let Trestman develop him. Finally…..looking forward to seeing (Argos) Trestman and (Ticats) Austin (and a couple of their gunslingers….Collaros vs Mayfield?) go head to head over the next few years!

In reply to SaskWatch. Argos aren't flush with Canadian O line men.They have a very healthy amount .Riders have too many international receivers they can't keep...No one will trade the likes of Bakari Grant for starting caliber or depth type Canadian O lineman
