Edmonton has agreed to terms with American defensive lineman Phillip Hunt, per sources.
The 31-year-old played in eight games for the Eskimos in 2016, recording 12 tackles and three sacks after coming back north. Hunt earned an opportunity in the NFL when he posted a CFL-high 16 sacks in 2010, which garnered three-down league all-star honours. He spent time with the Eagles, Colts, Lions and Saints, playing in 24 games, making 23 tackles and four sacks, one for a safety.
By getting Hunt under contract, general manager Ed Hervey retains the strong core of international defensive ends along with Odell Willis and Marcus Howard.
