The Halifax Hitmen: a fantasy expansion team of CFL free agents

The Halifax Hitmen.

That’s the name Justin Dunk and I chose for our fantasy CFL expansion team built exclusively with pending free agents. We followed the league’s roster rules for game day (3 quarterbacks, 21 internationals and 20 nationals along with two scratches) and also tried to fit the team under the $5.15 million salary cap, giving ourselves a little extra room for injuries, a practice squad and late-season additions. Given that the CFL doesn’t officially release salary information, the numbers we allocated were based on educated guesses.

To fully understand how we built our team, listen to the podcast below. And let us know how we did: Justin thinks we’re a playoff team in a weak East Division.
