The CRTC also needs to aim it’s next change directly at Bell/TSN.
It is ridiculous that on the basic cable channels we get NFL games on Fox and CBS. But to watch our own Canadian game we have to pay extra (for two channels!) in order to watch the CFL on TSN.

I agree with Dvd, everyone I know will watch the US feed over CTV if given the choice. As for the 40% drop, I’ll believe that when pigs fly. CTV might have taken a hit, many reasons for that including the fact they don’t carry any CFL games thus they’re perceived as opportunists by all football fans, never the go-to-channel for football, but the game itself is a ratings monster here like everywhere else.

Tom: are you a parrot? Or do you have knowledge about this issue?

I know CTV paid to carry the signal their own channels but I was referring to the US Fox channel on cable that,until now, also carried CTV’s commercials.I worked for Bell/CTV not too long ago and was under the impression that in that instance the cable company could not do anything about Bell shutting out the original US advertisers.
Also, when I was checking the local CTV channel,there were a lot of program promos.That’s when I went to the Fox channel.Perhaps they had sold the maximum ad time allowed and had to fill in with their promos. In any event the viewer was not served well. The CRTC made the correct decision though, that CTV could do that on their own channels but NOT on Fox’s US network channel.
