All-star Adarius Bowman signs contract extension with Esks

The Edmonton Eskimos have signed receiver Adarius Bowman to a contract extension through the 2018 season.

A three-time CFL all-star, Bowman set a team-record last season with 120 receptions for a league-leading 1,759 yards and nine touchdowns. In his nine CFL seasons, he has amassed career totals of 568 receptions for 8,490 yards and 43 touchdowns. 

Bowman originally joined the Eskimos as a free agent in January 2011 after stints in Saskatchewan (2008) and Winnipeg (2009-10).

Meanwhile, the Ottawa Redblacks have re-signed international running back William Powell after he missed the 2016 season with a torn Achilles. In seven appearances with Ottawa in 2015, Powell carried the ball 76 times for 447 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
