However…..do you realize that the minimum NFL salary is North of $500k per year??? No way the CFL franchises could afford to compete with that with or without a salary cap. Salary cap in the CFL is just over $5 million per team for all its players. In the NFL that is the amount a decent O lineman makes. The days of CFL teams competing with NFL teams for talent are long gone

money in Canada may keep some of them home.Some of our major cities can compete with American salaries for Canadian players only.

IT is the time to rethink the salary cap in order to improve the talent pool for our great CFL teams.Some teams can not give raises to players that deserve it because the salary cap is too restrictive.It is time for a change in policy for a better CFL.
