2017 NFL/CFL prospect, DL Junior Luke named lineman MVP at NCAA all-star game

University of Montreal defensive lineman Junior Luke put together a strong week and game at the National Bowl played in Daytona Beach December 4.

He recorded three tackles, one tackle for loss and one knockdown, that effort earned him overall lineman MVP of the game. Luke checked in at over six-foot-one and 287 pounds. Ranked No. 13 on the fall scouting bureau list, Luke is coveted by CFL teams.

Fellow 2016 USports All-Canadian, Carabins linebacker, Frederic Chagnon made three tackles while measuring more than six-foot-three and 234 pounds. The rising tackler acquitted himself quickly to the American style of football.

Luke had 15.5 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, six sacks, one forced fumble and one interception while Chagnon registered 22.5 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, one sack, four pass breakups, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and one interception for a Montreal defence that gave up the fewest points (72) and yards per game (267.4) in Canadian university football.

14 NFL and three CFL teams were represented with over 30 scouts in Florida for the National Bowl, which had a record 26 FCS players drafted or signed with NFL teams from the 2015 game. It’s the No. 1 scouted FCS all-star game in the United States.
