Punter Rob Maver agrees to extension with Stamps

Canadian punter Rob Maver and the Stampeders have come to terms on a contract extension, per CFL sources.

The 30-year-old ranked second in the CFL with a 46.9 punt average in 2016 and he’s considered to be the best coffin corner specialist in the league.

Maver was a first-round pick, fifth overall in the 2010 CFL Draft. He made 37-of-47 field goal attempts, winning the CFL scoring title with 185 points in his rookie season with Calgary. That said, the University of Guelph product has not attempted a three-pointer in a game since 2011. Instead, Maver’s become the top Canuck punter in the CFL. The two-time CFL all-star has a career 45.4-yard punting average.
