Chris Jones held Rider practice on Parliament Hill Tuesday.
Saskatchewan beat Ottawa 32-30 in overtime on Friday night in Week 16 and they’re staying in the nation’s capital preparing for Saturday’s meeting with Toronto at BMO Field. The team practised at the office of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and met him afterwards.
Rob Bagg, the Riders’ most prominent current Canadian player, met Prime Minister Trudeau.
Trudeau reportedly threw and caught some footballs at practice. Jones assessed the Prime Minister’s football potential: “I believe we’ve got a little bit of work to do. He’ll have to go on the practice roster maybe, and then maybe we could move him up from there.”
