The 22-year-old went unselected in the 2016 NFL Supplemental Draft on Thursday, but agreed on a deal with the Bengals shortly after. Around 10 different teams made offers.

Simonise recorded 1,079 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns during his junior season at the University of Calgary.

He was declared academically ineligible for his senior year and that led to him getting added to the Supplemental Draft .
