The 2015 CFL MOP suffered an injured pinky finger on his right throwing hand against Edmonton in the third quarter of Ottawa’s week one victory against Edmonton, a rematch of the 2015 Grey Cup championship game.
Initially, Burris was put on the one-game injured list with the setback, but as Jakubec reports when it became a more long-term issue, Smilin’ Hank was moved to the six-game injured list.
Hearing a 4-6 week timeline on Burris. If healthy REDBLACKS can pull him off the 6-game injured list, but salary would count in full on cap.

After Burris went out of the game with his injured pinky, Trevor Harris took over quarterbacking duties and led a comeback, overtime win at Commonwealth Stadium. The 30-year-old completed 17 of 19 passes for 292 yards and three touchdowns in less than a half of football. Harris has been named the starter by Redblacks head coach Rick Campbell.
