Hamilton Tiger-Cats

Ticats sign top three 2016 CFL draft picks

Offensive lineman Brandon Revenberg, running back Mercer Timmis and receiver Mike Jones have agreed to terms on three-year pacts with the Tiger-Cats.

Hamilton traded up two spots to select the big, athletic blocker No. 3 overall, then grabbed the Burlington playmaker in the second round with the 14th pick and took the speedy pass catcher at the top of the third round, 18th overall.

Revenberg played every position on the offensive front during his time at Grand Valley State University. He garnered an invite to New York Giants rookie mini-camp, but he did not receive a contract offer from the team.

Timmis, who scored 44 touchdowns – fourth most in CIS football history – over four years at the University of Calgary, is viewed as a dynamic weapon. The Dino product earned invites to New York Giants and Carolina Panthers rookie mini-camps, although no deal came from either franchise.

Jones played 39 games at Southern University in the fast SWAC Conference, recording 49 receptions for 919 yards (18.8 yards per catch) and six touchdowns. He returned kicks and punts for the Jaguars too. The diminutive receiver – born in Toronto – attended Washington Redskins rookie mini-camp.
