Free agent Canadian defensive back Ryan Hinds has agreed to a one-year deal with the Ottawa Redblacks, per CFL sources.
The six-year veteran spent the last two-plus seasons with the Edmonton Eskimos, playing in 22 games and amassing 42 tackles. The 6-foot-1, 198-pounder was originally a second round pick of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and played three-plus seasons there before being released.
A native of Guyana who was raised in Toronto, Hinds has started games at safety, field corner at strong-side linebacker throughout his career as well as playing multiple special teams.
