Canadian defensive back Jermaine Gabriel has agreed to a three-year contract extension with the Argos, per CFL sources.
The five-foot-10, 199 lbs. safety has developed into a top-tier non-import starter. Toronto locks up an important piece in the secondary and for their ratio.
He was drafted by the Argos in the second round, 17th overall in 2013. Last season No. 5 made 13 starts a recorded a career-high 51 tackles with Toronto.
Gabriel was the No. 1 ranked free safety available on 3DownNation’s position-specific list of top possible free agents.
