In reply to steve desio. @ Mark: The Tiger-Cats have not renewed their radio broadcast-rights contract with CHML for the 2015 season, so it’s anticipated that part of Thursday’s announcement will be that Ticat games will be on the new station, on a long-term basis.

TSN has been following the NFL type protocal for Pre Season games. Showing a few but allowing local networks to brodacst games locally. I believe Hamilton did so with a pre season game at Guelph.
With better ownerhsip groups, as well as loder ones now making money. We should see them use their connections with other sports to have a local broadcast set up.
I cant see OSEG setting up a home pre season game in QC and not have it broadcast in Ottawa. RDS will likely add that game as well for the French broadcast within Quebec being it is the Als, Ottawa, and in QC.

For Hamilton and TSN it makes perfect sense. Hamilton is its own market now sepretate of Toronto. It has similar goals for sports franchises and venues to that of Ottawa.

@Mark – LOL!! Well that would work IF they station was up and running in less than two weeks but I highly doubt that! CHML will no doubt have coverage but it is just not the same as being able to watch the game.

I guess TSN froze out the Ticats for TV coverage of the 2 pre-season games so that we can all tune in to the new radio station.
